Rock Slide

Today Devin and I took a little adventure to Bridal Veil Falls, a scenic waterfall down Provo Canyon. There is a paved path that goes through a small park right at the base of the falls. There is also a steep trail in the wooded area to the left of the fall that people climb to reach the top of the lowest fall. We heard you could make it to the very tip top of Bridal Veil, so we decided to scale the mountain side in search for some ropes or a trail to the top. We brought Louis with us, which was great (he sometimes helps pull me up steep things), but he can't rock climb as well as a human ALL the time... just most of the time - really. So we had to call it a day when Devin started to have to lift Louis up. We'll go back another day. I would rather do it in gym shorts anyways.
We decided to short cut our way down the mountain, which really probably ended up taking much longer, bc it was more difficult than it first appeared. Lets just say I ended up ankle deep in rocks for most of the time, emptying my shoe of rocks and pebbles often. It only created rock slides :) Louis was the worst at knocking rocks down, so he had to go first so he wouldn't hurt us. After sliding down on our butts and swimming in rocks, we hit the brush and forrest - steep dirt! We made it right back to the paved trail. It was a great spontaneous adventure for the day! That is the best part of Utah summers.

If you think my foot is under rocks, it is. And I'm happy about it.

The kids loved seeing Louis tonight on your blog!! And "Grandma's big waterfall". All of the waterfalls in Provo canyon are considered "Grandma's waterfalls" as they are on the way to Grandma's house. :) Looks like fun! Jason and I are bringing the kids down next weekend (the 24th) and ditching them with my 'rents for our belated anniversary getaway. We're just staying at a B&B in Provo, but then we were planning on hiking Bridal Veil and tubing own the river on Friday. Jason's never been. I'm excited! But that made this post extra interesting for us!! We're staying and hanging out the whole weekend so you guys will have to attempt to not go out of town this time so we can hang out!! (This 'comment' turned out to be about as long as an email. Oops!)
