summer catch up

Blogging tends to die every once in a while for certain individuals. And it died for me. Trips started, telemarketing began... you know. So we'll take a ride back in time to remember all the fun that was had.

My second rodeo ever happened. Strawberry days! And once again I got strawberries and cream for free - compliments of Matt Banks. And at that rodeo were more trick performing buffalo. And also at that rodeo I dropped my phone underneath the bleachers we were all seated on, which happened to be right above the cattle pen. Teddy and I ran down to save my phone before it got trampled. He scurried into the pen as an audience of children scouted out my phone. It was all in tact, just smelly.

I volunteered at Beth Lethbridge's Marathon - the Ragnar. Devin and I were road side assistance in Midway - a cute, swedish seeming town more north of Provo I believe. The whole time I wished I loved running more and was better at it so I could have taken part. Maybe one day I'll run more than a 5k.
A Salt Lake day adventure between classes of devinbeth to Ensign Peak. A small hill looking over the city, where supposedly, or unsupposedly, Brigham Young first looked out over the city, deciding "This is the place" to settle. You can clearly see the grid of the city and imagine a group of men begin the organization of their future lives. It's nice to remember the temple being one the largest thing down in the valley, but especially from above, it's so small in comparison to it's more modern surroundings. It still stands out brightly to some.
I took pictures with my Argus that day and if I ever get them developed, maybe some will have come out ok.

I participated in a HUGE slip n slide, loaded with hand soap and shaving cream.

Many, many bike rides happened this summer. I can't get enough of them and already miss it a lot.

Elise Birnbaum came to visit and married Devin Lethbridge. They wish. She did come to visit, without marriage involved, and we spent an afternoon at temple square. She got to see 7 brides - i think?

We took Elise to Moab, Arches National Park. My camera was dead and Elise has all the pictures, but here's one from last year. I love arches. I love Moab. I want to go every year of my life until someone has to push me in a wheel chair, but I'll still go.

Matt and Anne got engaged in Moab under Sandy Arch, with assistance from Devin, Elise, and I. Under Matt's directions we set up the scene and hid atop the arch in the dark trying so hard to hear him proposing.

There were many other Utah summer adventures. Like always I'm mentally kicking myself for not bringing my camera more places - without photos blogging is worthless. These are just some highlights - mostly highlights where my camera was present. I'll have to add a few of the last minute Utah outings soon.
