One of Life's Many Inspirations

Even in the worst of everything, there can be joy. We only need to recognize it, and then happiness comes.

From Such Great Heights

Bryce Canyon National Park was the first of Utah I got to see and hike this summer.
A few friends decided to make it a weekend of camping. We did a 6 mile hike from rim, down into the canyon, and back up to the rim. It's amazing to first see the canyon from the outside in, and then to get to experience it from the inside out. When you're down in the canyon you get to see the world differently than most people.
The canyon is so unique with it's
spires of rock and natural arches. The tall rock formations, formed from wind and water erosion, are actually called hoodoos. The Paiute Indians used to live in and around this
very canyon.

We made a little friend on our journey. What a brave little guy.

At the end of the day I was exhausted, but luckily we got to sneak into a hotel hot tub before heading home.
I didn't get any campsite or fire pictures but with a package of hotdogs and a few cans of chili we all had the best chili dogs.
I'm incredibly lucky to have been to such parts of the world. Being in new places, meeting new people, and learning about myself through new experiences is what I find most rejuvenating. It's what I love.

Head In The Clouds

Today I flew to Utah. I really love flying and seeing things from a very chance perspective. These pictures are actually from the winter - I didn't have my camera on the flight today.
I got to run through the Detriot airport to make my flight to Salt Lake.
That's always fun. But no real problems until I got to Utah. My bed in my apartment
got flooded two days ago from a toilet flood on the 3rd floor - I live on the first.
So I don't currently have a mattress. Luckily, the Lethbridges took me in. Remember Devin Lethbridge from the Virgin Islands?
Anyways, I'm excited to start the summer in Utah and look forward to what's ahead.

And all that stuff

Today was a proud day. I've built myself a nice foundation, now I can start building up.
There are many people who have helped me along the way, rooted for me,
and worried about me. Thank you to each and every one of them,
especially my mom and dad, for shaping me into the very loved
person I am. Luckily your family stays in your life
after graduation.

The Boys are back in town

The boys main motive to winning was to be featured on this very blog. I would like to note that it was 4 boys to 3 girls and they only won by 1 point. If you do the math, girls still rock, but credit is given to them no less.
They each ate 5 milky ways - the snack of champions.

The funniest boys guess:
clue - if you're really poor you might go on...
guess by James - maternity leave
actual answer - welfare
And cards and card stock are NOT the same thing

Victory is theirs!
Mike is disgusting and he just said - "hey! well, I don't care, it's probably true." poor guy.

Girls Rock

Sometimes girls are better than boys, especially at Taboo. Our points go on to the back of the page. I won jelly beans by saying many flavors in Harry Potter, and Jesse almost lost UV because the boys don't know the alphabet. By the way, Taboo is my favorite game.
For a snack we had strawberries and sugar.
Our group of friends has one week together, so we're making the best of it.

Escape of the Dragonfly

Today we found a dragonfly inside. It was huge and scary, but no fear, "boys are brave". We caught him with a pitcher, a broom, and a Clifford book and then observed him outside.

The bravery turned into fear quite quick :) We ended up letting him go to find his family

Tonight was baumbaum's art show: we are all collected. She did great - we art swapped - which means she got some of my art and I got some of hers. She's my favorite artist and best friend and I want her to be your favorite artist too, and your best friend. This is a photo of us from an art show over a year ago - she has long hair and I have short hair. More photos of her work to come!
Oh, and in honor of Bill being in town and having "watched" my first game, I am now a Penguins fan.
